Don't Let Machines Take Over Your Mind: Coding with LEDs

Thursday, October 24 + November 28, 2019 4 - 6 pm
The Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School

Join Steamlabs for this 10 week workshop that will introduce you to a variety of technology.  Each week, you will create a project utilizing a different type of technology like laser cutting, 3D printing, electronics, LED lights or coding. As you accumulate more skills week to week, put them all together to make your own original artistic technology creation.

Learn how to code programmable LED strips to display animated patterns. Beginner coders will be shown MakeCode, and participants with coding experience code in Python.

Steamlabs is an education innovation non-profit established in 2010 to ensure people understand and think critically about science and technology, have equitable access to it, and can use it to solve their personal challenges, improve their communities and make the world a better place.

Spaces limited to 20.
