"My intention in making this tape is to investigate the broad topic of women and power. By conflating the historical image of Queen Elizabeth 1 with those of popular culture, I am able to illustrate how the relationship of women to power has not significantly changed since the 16th century. An aging Queen Elizabeth 1 talks to you about such things as virginity, love and deception. This fast moving, humorously provocative tape was adapted with the assistance of Colin Campbell from a performance of the same name which was first presented in the spring of 1984." -T.M.

Private Eyes

We made this tape to ask: Could a large public art gallery be taken over by private interests and capital? And if this happened, how would the relationship be altered between the newly privatized gallery and its audience and the artists who exhibit there? This tape reworks the mystery/detective style of storytelling, seeking to reveal how the terms "public" and "private" are perceived. While undeniably fictional, this tape speculates on the future of art under questionable conditions of patronage.

There Is in Power... Seduction

A short exploration of the symbolic ambiguity of corporate versus sensual power. Does a woman adopt the mannerisms of a man when she enters the "male" territory of corporate power? There is of course no correct answer, and perhaps there is really no question. The body is language. Power seduces and is seductive.

Presents a portrait of 99-year-old Louise Tandy Murch. Shows her cooking at home, exercising, singing and playing the piano, catching a bus and shopping, celebrating her birthday with her family, etc. She comments on the joy of living and her philosophy of life. She shows her optimistic approach to life has helped her to deal with the aging process.
