Maker Friday: Steam Collective Landscape

Friday, March 21, 6 pm, 2025
Walker Court, Art Gallery of Ontario

Join us for this free pop-up art-making event, inspired by Steam: Impressionist Painting Across the Atlantic . The Model Railroad Club of Toronto has created a landscaped rail system for the AGO. With a 360 degree view, we will gaze upon a landscape inspired by Ontario’s very own railway history. The train model will be the subject of our own masterpiece drawings. We will be invited to capture the movements of the trains as the Impressionist artists did, transforming the way we see space and time! Participants have the opportunity to add their unique mark to their scenes as we explore the interplay between landscape, movement and creative play using watercolour pencils.

All steam ahead!

The Model Railroad Club of Toronto, founded in 1938, houses the Central Ontario Railway, with over 5,000 feet of track showcasing its majestic wilderness and historic industries. We welcome enthusiasts of all ages to experience the magic that happens at the junction of innovative technology, exceptional artistry and living history.
