Meditating on Art: Turn Stress Into Rest

Saturday, September 21, October 19, November 9, 10:30 am, 2024
Seminar Room 3, Weston Family Learning Centre

Join us for a transformative two-hour intensive mediation program designed to immerse participants in the practice of mindfulness. Surrounded by art, participants will deepen their connection with the present moment. The collection of sights, textures, and colours will serve as powerful anchors for focusing the mind during meditation and breathwork. This condensed program offers a structured approach to meditation, empowering participants to cultivate a personal practice and experience immediate results.

Helton Brito is a certified mindfulness meditation and yoga teacher that finds purpose in bringing calm and ease to others. In his practice he believes that helping others to better connect with themselves can activate self-actualization and live out their true life’s purpose. With a background in mindfulness based stress reduction, human design and mindfulness training in Tibetan Buddhism, his focus is on informational and lighthearted practices—he is most driven by guiding others to their own hidden potential that lies within. Helton facilitates his practice in corporate environments, with experience leading more than 1300 people through heart-centered meditations, as well as working with athletic teams and youth development programs. He brings a grounded approach to his teaching and guidance that makes mindful practices and meditation something anyone can find connection to.
