Youth Workshop: Art of Crochet

Wednesdays, January 10 – February 7, 4 − 5:30 pm
The Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School

Explore the world of crochet with Legin’s workshops. Blending art, culture, music, well-being, this  holistic approach to crochet is more than just a craft—it’s a journey of cultivating mindfulness and patience, weaving them seamlessly into your daily life.

Legin’s crochet mastery traces back more than 25 years ago to Trinidad, where a Rastaman sparked his interest in the craft. From making hats for himself, Legin’s passion grew into Legin Knits. This brand specializes in handcrafted, one-of-a-kind crochet pieces that fuse fashion and art. Legin’s commitment to empowering others to be the source of their own creativity has evolved into a passion for crafting meditative workshops and social gatherings.

Following the January 31 workshop, join us for guided youth tours of the exhibitions Life between Islands: Caribbean-British Art 1950s-Now with Julie Crooks, Curator of Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora, and Feels like Home with Emily Croning, Curatorial Assistant, Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora.
