Art & Ideas: Happiness
We dream about it, we long for it, we go to great lengths to find it. Happiness. But what is it that we are looking for? Where can it be discovered? And how will we know when we have found it? In this workshop, we take up these questions as we both observe and create images of happiness. We consider artworks by Ashevak, Milne, Reid and Jungen, and with the help of writings by Aristotle, Epicurus, Seneca, Bentham, Kahneman and Rubin, we review the theory and the practice of happiness, incorporating both aesthetic and philosophical perspectives.
