Collage and Mixed Media

Explore the creative possibilities of collage and mixedmedia art. Students will begin by making their own collage papers using surfacedesign techniques such as stamping, stenciling, staining, and scraping. They’ll then use these materials to build vibrant collages and lowrelief assemblages that combine fabric, paint, and found objects. The class will also look to our permanent collection as well as the work of Mickalene Thomas, as featured in the Sunday Best exhibition, for inspiration in colour, pattern, and layered composition.

All Skill levels are welcome.

Students are asked to bring their receipt (printed or digital) and meet in the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School.

All materials are provided. Please check back here 2 weeks prior to the start of the course to download a course syllabus.
