Portrait of William Pitt, Prime Minister of Britain, 1783-1801, 1804-1806

Note that some information provided by the Thomson office gives the date of this object as 1809. It is in fact stamped '1806'. While very like the Peter Rouw wax portrait of Pitt from 1809, there are enough significant differences in the features and hair on the Andras portrait to warrant it being 'ad vivum'. This is entirely plausible as Andras enjoyed the official patronage of George III and thus many well-known members of the aristocracy sat to her.
