PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SeiZure was a zine launched by the AGO Youth council with the intention of giving youth a forum for discussing the issues that affect them, and as a catalogue of youth experiences concerning art, culture, and travel.

The theme of the first issue was 'Anticipation.' It contained stories, poems, and photos, as well as an interview, a travel diary, an opinion piece, and a fashion piece, all of which tried to play on the sense of anticipation that the new Youth Council was experiencing in terms of the coming year, and for life in general.

SeiZure was launched with a party in the Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School and featured performances by Golden Ticket and The Whoremoans. The Council plans to put out three issues per year, and the next issue in the works will be themed 'Gratification.'

SeiZure is available at the Toronto Women’s Bookstore, with future plans for distribution at This Ain't the Rosedale Library, Pages Bookstore, and Uprising Books + Infoshop.

The first issue received a favourable review in the alternative, grassroots girl mag, Shameless.
