Close Encounters | Contemporary Inuit Art – New Acquisitions/New Directions: building the Inuit Art Collection at AGO
Join Andrew Hunter, Fredrik S. Eaton Curator, Canadian Art as he discusses a number of recently acquired large drawings by Shuvinai Ashoona, Tim Pitsiulak and Jutai Toonoo. Hunter will highlight the emphasis on drawing as the signature form for a generation of artists working in Kinngait (Cape Dorset) and reflect on the presence of contemporary social issues in the works.
