Glenn D. Lowry and Stephan Jost in Conversation
Join Stephan Jost, the AGO’s Michael and Sonja Koerner Director, and CEO and Glenn D. Lowry, The David Rockefeller Director of The Museum of Modern Art for a conversation on the role of museums in this moment.
Stephan Jost became the director of the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2016. Following his appointment, Stephan demonstrated immediate leadership by thoughtfully exploring the AGO’s visitorship, collection and key strengths in order to strategically focus on three mission-aligned areas: art, access and learning. He has overseen the revitalization of several key areas in the Gallery, helped clarify new audience target segments; and launched Look:Forward, a major reinstallation of the AGO’s remarkable Collection.
Glenn D. Lowry became the sixth of The Museum of Modern Art in 1995. Leading a staff of over 750, Mr. Lowry continues the Museum’s legacy of enriching public life through exhibitions, educational programs, publications, and digital tools that challenge conventional ideas about modern and contemporary art and design, and initiatives that bring MoMA’s renowned collection and research to audiences worldwide. From 1990 to 1994, he was the director of the Art Gallery of Ontario.
