Inner Space with Yen Linh Thai

Wednesday, March 30, 3 pm

Inner Space, a new monthly web series co-curated by the Inner Space Youth Advisory and AGO staff, welcomes artists from across Canada as they present personal tours of their studios. Giving a platform to young curators aged 16-25 to work with artists from their communities, Inner Space aims to make visible and celebrate a new generation of Canadian artists. A new video will be released each month.

This month we meet artist Yen Linh Thai, a multidisciplinary artist, muralist and illustrator based in Mississauga.

She was nominated by Visaree Bradshaw-Coore of the AGO Youth Advisory. “I chose Yen because she’s from Mississauga like me and I thought it was cool that she is doing work locally like murals and is active within my community. She doesn’t compromise her artstyle in fear of it not being accepted. She fills me with security and hope that creating what you love will attract those who are like you, not isolate you further.”

Curator Bio:

Artist? Actress? Humm more like Storyteller ☆ EXTRAORDINAIRE☆

Jk just a little bit of dazzle, never hurt anyone eh?

Anyways, Hello!  My name is Visaree (Vis-R-e). I go by she/her, I am 18 years old and come from Mississauga, Ontario. I love working in the Arts and Entertainment mostly due to my drive for storytelling, creating friendships, and the deep enriching connections new perspectives bring to my life and the lives of others. In my free time, I do Theatre, Make art, and Curate around the GTA. I'm grateful to be where I am, especially getting the chance to work with the AGO. I'm hoping to continue to grow and learn. If you wanna work with me search and you will find my friend, I'm practically an open book (okay maybe not too open that seems dangerous) but still, I'm here :) You can find me on instagram @bradshawcoore.

For requests for Verbal Description, American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and/or live captioning for online and onsite programming, please provide three weeks notice in advance of the event date. The AGO will make every effort to provide accommodation for requests made with less than three weeks notice. Please note that automated captioning is available for all online programs. For onsite visits, the AGO offers these supports for an accessible visit. Please contact us to make a request for these or other accessibility accommodations.
