Kaywin Feldman and Stephan Jost in Conversation
Join Stephan Jost, Michael and Sonja Koerner Director, and Kaywin Feldman, the Director of the National Gallery of Art in Washington in conversation on the role of museums.
Kaywin Feldman is the National Gallery of Art’s fifth director. She is committed to connecting people to art in a globalized world through the power of wonder and accessibility. Prior to her arrival, Feldman served for 11 years as the Nivin and Duncan MacMillan Director and President at the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia). She is a trustee of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the White House Historical Association, and the Chipstone Foundation, and a member of the State Hermitage Museum International Advisory Board, and the steering committee of the Bizot Group. She is a past president of the Association of Art Museum Directors (AAMD) and past chair of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM).
Stephan Jost became the director of the Art Gallery of Ontario in 2016. Following his appointment, Stephan demonstrated immediate leadership by thoughtfully exploring the AGO’s visitorship, collection and key strengths in order to strategically focus on three mission-aligned areas: art, access and learning. He has overseen the revitalization of several key areas in the Gallery, helped clarify new audience target segments; and launched Look:Forward, a major reinstallation of the AGO’s remarkable Collection.
