Letter to Jane: An Investigation about a Still

Friday January 10, 8:30 pm
Jackman Hall, Art Gallery of Ontario

Directed by Jean-Luc Godard and Jean-Pierre Gorin
1972, 52 min.

A follow up to their 1972 film Tout va Bien, Letter to Jane is directed by Jean-Luc Godard and Jean-Pierre Gorin. Narrated in a back-and-forth style by both Godard and Gorin, the film serves as a cinematic essay that deconstructs a single news photograph of Jane Fonda in Vietnam. This was Godard and Gorin's final collaboration.

This screening is part of a film series inspired by the exhibition Hito Steyerl: This is the future.
