Members' Access: Fragments of Epic Memory

Wednesday, September 1 to Friday, September 3
Art Gallery of Ontario

Members always see it first! Immerse yourself in the complex histories, stories and inspirations of the Caribbean and its diaspora through historic photographs and contemporary artworks.

The first exhibition organized by the AGO’s new Department of Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora, Fragments of Epic Memory blends historical and contemporary narratives, presenting more than 200 photographs from the AGO's Montgomery Collection of Caribbean Photographs.

Steelpan Sounds
Friday, September 3
6:30 – 8:30 pm | Joey and Toby Tanenbaum Sculpture Atrium

While you’re passing through, catch these performances by two amazing steel pannists during this special Friday night Members’ Access! Originating from Trinidad and Tobago in the early 20th century, the hammered, shiny metal pans are an icon of musical energy found in the streets, festivals and now, leading cultural and educational organizations.

Book your access today! Log in to your AGO account to book your Members’ Access in advance.
