Join us for the public opening of Mickalene Thomas: Femmes Noires, featuring an incredible DJ set by Kwame Younge & DJ Dave Campbell (What It Is!). Thomas makes paintings, collages, photography, video, and installations that draw on art history and popular culture to create a contemporary vision of female sexuality, beauty, and power. Celebrate with the artist and view the exhibition.

A cash bar will be available all evening. All are welcome.

What It Is!

Soul, Funk, Reggae and House music aficionados all know the deal. For over 20 years Kwame Younge and DJ Dave Campbell have been bringing their special brand of partying to dance floors across Toronto. With an emphasis on the groove first, Kwame and Dave have fostered an undeniably soulful sanctuary at every venue they play. From Aretha to Ten City, from Machel Montano to Luther Vandross, from Nina Simone to Third World. Their vibrant music and the unifying message of Soul it carries feeds the lips , hips and fingertips of all involved.
