Ron Terada in conversation with Kitty Scott

Marvin Gelber Print & Drawing Study Centre, Art Gallery of Ontario

Join Ron Terada, in conversation with Kitty Scott, to learn about the Vancouver-based artist’s expansive practice including sculpture, photography, video, sound and graphic design. Terada’s Entering the City of Vancouver (2002) is presently on view as part of Light Years: The Phil Lind Gift, and in 2018, the AGO exhibited his fourteen painting series the Jack Paintings, in response to the memoir of the American artist Jack Goldstein. Scott also organized Terada’s exhibition at The Power Plant, Toronto, We Did This to Ourselves, which was on view in summer 2023.

Ron Terada lives and works in Vancouver. His wide-ranging practice includes painting, signage, photography, printed matter, music and interventions, grounded in a text-based tradition of Conceptual art that interrogates the sign systems of art and everyday life, while approaching the realm of popular culture as an expanse of material, free for the taking and ripe with possibility. Terada’s solo exhibitions include The Power Plant, Toronto, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and Hayward Gallery, London with group showings at the Deichtorhallen, Hamburg, Polygon Gallery, North Vancouver, and Kunsthalle Wien, Vienna to name a few.
