Walking home from school? Studying? Taking a work break? Tune in, chill out and vibe to live sets by local youth DJs from our AGO Youth Community.

Join UforChange's HellaHelen and DJ NABZ on Friday, November 6!

This program is part of the partner series, AGO Live: Hello From The Other Side where we welcome partners from across the city to use the AGO as a site for their programs in an effort to revitalize the arts in our city.

The Art Gallery of Ontario is part of the network of large-scale institutions across North America and its partner organizations tend to be the same scale. However, the Gallery’s size is a function of growth, and nurturing cycle of art makers, art thinkers and art community builders often starts within. The AGO Youth Program has partnered with several community organizations over the years. Hello From The Other Side highlights these relationships, inviting DJs who are (past and new) community members to bring fresh sounds to our shared COVID-19 experience.

UforChange gives young people an opportunity to nurture their creative passions in a series of hands-on arts workshops led by a team of talented arts mentors. There's photographers, fashion designers and DJs—all professionals in their field with real-world experience, ready to share their insights and passions.

HellaHelen (Helen C. Saygan) is a Scarborough-based creative who brings soca, old school and modern hip hop/R&B to any space. Mixing at venues like Evergreen Brickworks, Impact Kitchen, and Socialite, she’s your local homegirl who's always providing good music and good vibes. Ten per cent (10%) of the revenue from her gigs will go to supporting local BIPOC charities and non-profit spaces.

DJ NABZ is a creative and entrepreneur, born and rasied and currently located in Toronto. Nabenah has many influences that have shaped her versatile music collection, from R&B, hip hop, pop, soul, funk, and disco to dance music including house, techno, and drum 'n' bass. She is forever inspired by many decades of music from the '70s to the most current of tunes.
