Seniors Social: Intimate Interiors
Make new artistic connections and spark conversations! Join us for our Seniors Social program, a monthly workshop series for older adults that combines conversations with art and artmaking. Bold palettes, vigorous brushstrokes and vibrant colours abound in the exhibition Cassatt-McNicoll: Impressionists Between Worlds.
Renowned for their depictions of modern womanhood, their work had a profound impact on the development and proliferation of Impressionism in North America. In their paintings and works on paper, both artists captured portraits of various interior spaces in incredible detail − as sites for work, for rest, for contemplation, for community.
In our session together we will focus our drawings on our own domestic interiors, taking as our inspiration the lovely sun-soaked image of the bedroom, painted in 1915 by Helen McNicoll.
