Join us for Slow Art Day, a global event with a simple mission: to help more people discover for themselves the joy of looking at and loving art.

How can I participate?
One day each year – April 4, 2020 – people all over the world visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly.

1. Pick five works of art at the AGO and visit them for 10 minutes each. That's it. Simple by design, the goal is to focus on the art and the art of seeing.
2. To support looking and a group experience, you can also join our one hour Gallery Tours at 11 am, noon, 1 pm, 2 pm and 3 pm or our 10-minute On the Dot Art Chats at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm.

Why Slow?
When people look slowly at a piece of art they make discoveries and personal connections. The most important discovery they make is that they can see and experience art without being an expert. And that's an exciting discovery. It unlocks passion and creativity and helps to create more art fans.
