Some Measure of Justice: Holocaust Art Restitution in the 1990s
Michael Marrus, Chancellor Rose and Ray Wolfe Professor Emeritus of Holocaust Studies at the University of Toronto and a Senior Fellow of Massey College, has had a distinguished career as an academic and a writer and teaches in both Law and History. His recent book Some Measure of Justice on the restitution campaign of the 1990s asks the question, “Can there ever be justice for the Holocaust?” His talk will feature some famous cases of restitution of valuable works of art including paintings and drawings by Edgar Degas, Gustav Klimt and Pablo Picasso.
