Saturday April 27, 2 - 4 pm

Join us to celebrate the book launch of In This Together: Blackness, Indigeneity and Hip-Hop, edited by Audrey Hudson, Awad Ibrahim and Karyn Recollet.

Featuring essays by Jenell and Jose Navarro; Sameena Eidoo and Susan Blight; Ben Kelly and Ryan Clapham; Dalton Higgins; Mark Campbell and Salman Rana; Karyn Recollet;  Michael McDonald, Andre Hamilton and Tantanka Oyate; Kareem Muhammad; Audrey Hudson; Emerald Christopher-Boyd; Ashley Newby; Awad Ibrahim, and Daniela F. Gomes da Silva. Poems by Mahlikah Awe:ri, Britta Badour, Jayda Marley and Ostewelve. Cover art by Simon Do Young Lim.

In This Together brings innovative criticality to the rarely explored intersections of Hip-Hop, Blackness and Indigeneity and shows how and why Hip-Hop emerges as a site of identification and investment for Black and Indigenous people, especially the young, as they journey in their social, historical and political struggle. This volume is an ode to Hip-Hop, a gesture of love and acknowledgement of Black and Indigenous relationships.
