Web Archiving for Artists and Cultural Workers

Join librarians Sarah Lake and Hélène Brousseau from Concordia University for an online web archiving workshop. This interactive workshop will introduce artists and cultural workers to the basics of Webrecorder  software and Conifer, a free online web archiving service. Participants will have the opportunity to test out these tools to preserve online content like web-based artworks, virtual exhibitions, and digital publications.

This free event will take place on Zoom. Registration is required.

Sarah Lake is the digital preservation librarian at Concordia University, where she leads the library’s web archiving initiatives and delivers web archiving workshops for students and faculty.

Hélène Brousseau is the digital media and visual resources librarian at Concordia University. She was formerly the digital collections and systems librarian at Artexte where she led the organization’s web archiving initiatives, including introductory workshops using Webrecorder and Conifer.

For requests for Verbal Description, American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and/or live captioning for online and onsite programming, please provide three weeks notice in advance of the event date. The AGO will make every effort to provide accommodation for requests made with less than three weeks notice. Please note that automated captioning is available for all online programs.
