Instructor demonstrating watercolour technique

Introduction to Watercolour

Introduction to Watercolour is a beginner-friendly course that explores the delicate and fluid art of painting with watercolours. Students will learn essential techniques such as washes, wet-on-wet, dry brushing, layering, and color mixing, all while gaining an understanding of how to control water and pigment on paper. Through guided exercises and creative projects, participants will experiment with different styles, from loose and expressive to more detailed and realistic. The course also provides insight into selecting materials, understanding composition, and developing a personal artistic approach. Suitable for those new to painting, this course encourages creative exploration in a relaxed and supportive environment.

This course is suitable for all skill levels. Meet in the Dr. Anne Tanenbaum Gallery School.
