AGO Live: Sonic Saturday with DJ Gayance

Saturday, October 23, 1-3pm
Walker Court, Art Gallery of Ontario

Join us in Walker Court for live DJ sets, featuring DJs who specialize in Caribbean tunes, we will liven up the space! Be transported to Jamaica, Barbados and Dominican Republic, as we embrace reggae, calypso, soca and bachata, fuelled by DJ Gayance.

DJ Gayance. Gayance is a Creole word for joyfulness - the perfect name for Aïsha Vertus’s musical project that celebrates her Haitian roots (she was born and raised in Montreal-Nord).
Gayance started as a DJ in 2013 to make her first love a mixtape. Then, her eclectic musical taste was quickly picked up by many radio selekta and respected DJs. Gayance collects a variety of music on vinyl, including Afro-Latin jazz, North American Black music, Caribbean vintage sounds, West African and Black Electronic music from Detroit, Chicago and London.
