Beginner Dance Hall Workshops

Thursdays, September 16 - November 4, 4:30 pm
Zoom

Join our free, online Dance Hall workshops for youth taught by Fabiola “MustBeFABY” Dieuve, founder of Irie Jamz International. While learning about Jamaican culture, you’ll be empowered, educated and encouraged using a culturally responsible approach.  Each workshop includes a brief dancehall lecture, a body warm-up, movement and choreography as well as stretching and meditation.

Born in Montreal, Fabiola “MustBeFABY” Dieuve has performed alongside numerous Jamaican music legends such as Sean Paul, Beenie Man and Elephant Man, as well as many Canadian artists.

After relocating to Toronto, she taught workshops and classes at some of the biggest dance studios in the country, such as Millenium Dance Complex, The Underground Dance Centre, and the Toronto Dance Theatre. For several years, Faby has organized a range of cultural, educational activities and retreats, bridging communities from Canada to Jamaica. Through her rigorous training and education, received directly from the creators of dancehall culture, Faby has  developed groundbreaking initiatives in Jamaica and worked with iconic Jamaican festivals in Canada.
