Frances Loring and Florence Wyle: Their Wills and Testaments, and The Sculpture Fund
Wednesday July 4, 6-8 pm
E.P. Taylor Library & Archives, Art Gallery of Ontario
Join Vancouver-based 221A Fellow Amy Nugent at the E.P. Taylor Library & Archives for a special Toronto Art Book Fair Week event devoted to the Wills and Testaments of sculptors Frances Loring (1887–1968) and Florence Wyle (1881–1968). The event centres around a reading of the artists’ wills, highlighting their unfulfilled wishes to have a Sculpture Fund for Canadian art acquisition. 221A has published a limited edition artists’ book which pairs the wills drafted by the artists together in 1963. The evening will also feature a display of photographs and documents selected from Loring and Wyle’s archives at the AGO.
