Looking at Blue Paper: Study Day Morning Session
Art conservators, art historians, artists, curators, researchers, collectors, and the curious are invited to join the Looking at Blue Paper Team (Maia C Donnelly, Samuel H. Kress Conservation Fellow, papermaker and bookbinder; Paper Conservators Joan Weir and Tessa Thomas); and special guest Dr. Thea Burns, Independent Scholar and Adjunct Associate Professor, Art Conservation, Queen’s University for a discussion of blue paper supports 1400-1800 found in the AGO drawing collection. Be introduced to the qualities, history, and production of blue paper as a drawing support using examples from the collection.
