Public Opening - Brian Jungen: Friendship Centre

Wednesday June 19, 2019, 6 pm
Walker Court, Art Gallery of Ontario

Join us for the public opening of Brian Jungen: Friendship Centre, featuring Dane-zaa Dreamer's Songs by Garry Oker at 7 pm.  Brian Jungen: Friendship Centre is a landmark exhibition of sculpture, wall works, drawing, video and archival objects spanning over twenty years of Jungen’s career. Celebrate with the artist and view the exhibition. A cash bar will be available following Garry Oker and opening remarks. All are welcome.

Garry Oker is a member and councillor of Doig River First Nation Leadership team in northeast British Columbia. Oker comes from a long line of Dane-zaa Dreamers who use prophecies and wisdom from elders to guide and direct leadership in decision-making. He continues to use songs and stories to build visions that strengthen the community.
