AGO Friday Nights: Copy Shop
It’s a printmaking party every Friday night in March in Walker Court, as the creative team from Colour Code Studio welcomes members of the public to try the easy, exciting art called Risography. Riso-what? Increasingly popular with artists, illustrators and graphic designers thanks to its low cost and small ecological footprint, the riso printing process is like screenprinting with all the looks and (in)convenience of an office copier.
Established in 2011, Colour Code is an independent print studio and publishing platform run by artists Jesjit Gill and Jenny Gitman. Colour Code specializes in high-quality, artist-friendly Risograph printing, as well as publication of small-run artist books, zines, comics, posters and other printed matter.
