Video Art 101

Video Art 101 is an introductory course designed for those eager to explore the dynamic intersection of art and technology through the medium of video. Students will gain foundational skills in creating and editing video artworks, learning essential techniques for storytelling and visual composition; seen through the history video Art, installation and the AGO collections. Through hands-on projects, students will experiment with various styles and formats, developing their unique artistic voice while experimenting with tools for digital video production. By the end of the course, participants will have a solid grasp of video art principles and the confidence to produce and critique their own video-based creations.  This course will be Mac based only. Students will use an iPhone/iPad (shooting and editing) or Mac laptop (editing only). We will be using iMovie (free) and ProCamera ($18). As well, please bring a tripod with attachment that can hold your iPhone or iPod for shooting. 

This course is suitable for all skill levels. Please meet in Seminar Room 3.
