It’s a wonderful feeling to receive a handmade card on Valentine’s Day. Imagine how it feels to get one from someone from a different part of the world.

After a successful debut last year, the AGO is partnering again with the grassroots networks of women living with HIV for some card-making fun. Running until February 14, families visiting the AGO’s Dr. Mariano Elia Hands-On Centre will find all the materials needed to make a special card for someone they love and for a woman living with HIV around the world.

When finished, the handmade Valentine cards can be dropped in our AGO mailbox. At the end of the two weeks of artmaking, we’ll send the Valentine cards to women living with HIV in Jamaica, Ukraine, Nepal, and Kenya, or closer to home in Toronto and Vancouver.

This activity is organized alongside Love Positive Women (LPW), a project for women living with HIV to spread acts of love towards women with HIV.

We’ve already had some families in to make and send Valentine’s cards as their own acts of love. Check out the photos below!
