Joanna Johnston, It will never be. archival print on aluminum dibond, 45”x80” ed. of 3 [artwork available through AGO Art Rental and Sales]

Joanna Johnston, a fine art photographer with a background in architecture, hails from Calgary, but is currently living and working in Paris, France. Her latest series, Falling In, explores the possibilities of double exposure – a technique that, using a camera, combines two different images to make a single image, prompting viewers to question where one image finishes and the other begins. Her work has been exhibited at numerous Toronto galleries and is held in private and corporate collections in Calgary, Toronto and Los Angeles. Johnston's work is available exclusively through the AGO Art Rental & Sales Gallery now until September 23rd and is currently on view in caféAGO and in AGO Bistro.

Callen Schaub, Opalescence, acrylic & resin on canvas on panel, 60” [artwork available through AGO Art Rental and Sales]

Callen Schaub is a Montreal-based abstract artist whose vibrant, innovative contemporary works are bold and thought-provoking. In his painting, Opalescence, Schaub catches your eye with a bright swirled rainbow of colours. Schaub has worked with paint, natural forces and machines like swinging troughs and pendulums to inventively create some of his artwork during live performances across Canada and in Los Angeles. Schaub attended OCAD University and has shown his work at exhibitions across North America since 2010. A selection of pieces from his series, Unfazed, is currently on view in the private dining room in AGO Bistro.

Christoper Allen Henry, White Lake Algoma, oil on canvas, 48”x72” [artwork available through AGO Art Rental and Sales]

Christopher Allen Henry’s Algoma depicts a breathtaking image of fall. Painted in northern Ontario, both the trees and water shimmer with colour. Henry’s detailed work of Ontario’s landscape is filled with energy. He began exhibiting in Toronto in 1987 and since then has shown at 25 galleries across Canada. A selection of his work will be on view September 25 to November 11 in a private dining room in AGO Bistro.
