Be teleported into the Golden Age of Magic. Join us Under the Spiral Staircase for an evening of mentalism, magic, illusion and song. The Sentimentalists will take a journey into your mind, you will experience spirit communication with Nicolas Wallace as well as witness the impossible from world-renowned magician Richard Forget. Crooner Richard Herfeld will set the stage with songs of the era, with live piano accompaniment.

AGO Live: Marie Lambin-Gagnon - Slow Death

Responding to the dramatic setting of AGO’s European Masters galleries, Slow Death is an installation performance engaging with the idea of perpetual transformation. Juxtaposing found objects, electronic music and colourful fabrics against the 16th century artworks, Lambin-Gagnon creates an eclectic tableau.

AGO Live: Zadie Xa - Grandmother Mago

Bringing together live acoustic drumming, dance, costumes and painted sculptural elements, this processional performance explores overlapping identities, fictional family histories and the transference of ancestral knowledge through matrilineal social structures.

AGO Live: Early Rubens in-gallery harpsichord performances

The AGO invited The Canadian composer and musician Owen Pallet to arrange music to be performed in Early Rubens. Inspired by the power of Ruben's religious paintings to spiritually uplift the viewer, Pallett's compositions, in his works, evoke "the concept of the infinite - a sense of spiritual vertigo."

Japanese born, New York-based artist Miho Hatori brings to Jackman Hall a musical exploration of memory, identity and the philosophy of Martinique-born poet and thinker Édouard Glissant.
