The AGO is marking Black History Month in February with a packed arts program reflecting the work of Black artists and elevating Black narratives in art for everyone to enjoy.

We will share presentations of new art acquisitions, highlighting the AGO’s newest curatorial department, the Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora; we have a stunning partnership with RISE Edutainment whose mandate is to empower youth through creative practices; we chill out with an evening of music by a Canadian jazz great, Molly Johnson; there will be story time and music on Family Day weekend with children’s book author Valene Campbell, plus a pop-up photo booth and to close out the month we have a marketplace with Black Owned Toronto. Gather your friends and fam—there’s something for everyone.

Friday February 3, 17 and 24: AGO Friday Nights with RISE Edutainment

Saturday, February 4: Artists' Talk with recently acquired artists with the department of Arts of Africa and the Diaspora

Friday, February 10: An evening performance with Molly Johnson in Walker Court
